Welcome to Preston West Primary School
Our school is located on Murray Rd Preston in the City of Darebin. While located in a residential area the school is in close proximity to the Preston Market and High Street shopping precinct. The school is housed in a double story, brick building built in 1915. Preston West has a rich history of educational excellence serving the community for 90 years. The school draws children from a diverse range of ethnic groupings and socio-economic backgrounds. We are indeed representative of the modern day multicultural Australia.
Our purpose is to provide a safe, stimulating and supportive environment that develops all students to their full potential -academically, socially and personally. We instil in students a life long love of learning.
Preston West Primary School excels in the teaching of children so that they reach their greatest potential in literacy and numeracy, whilst nuturing the individual's creativity and curiosity in response to the world around them. We provide a safe and supportive school community that shows mutual respect for the diverse skills and experience of our teachers, parents and students.
